Svengoolie, played by Rich Koz, is host of a weekly show which spoofs a classic horror/scifi classic movie broadcast every Saturday night. He provides humor and shtick to the already campy feature movie and he has a type self-deprecating approach to the fun which is right up my alley.

Actress Janet Leigh in a scene from Psycho. She was married to Tony Curtis and together they had a daughter, Jamie Leigh Curtis who also went on to stardom. JLC also was a screamer in the movie Halloween in 1979.
In keeping with my military theme I ask a simple question: what does the devil look like? Does he look like a monster who is dripping saliva from his mouth ready to devour me? Is he the beast hiding under my boyhood bed who would pounce on me the moment he detected any movement? Is he a drill instructor who spent his days making my life miserable while in boot camp?
I dare say the evil in my world is none of those things but rather the evil of laziness, self-doubt, fear, timidity, and procrastination. The devil comes not as a gruff, demanding drill instructor but rather as a nice, fluffy, innocent, cuddly teddy bear. This cute plush toy of my mind says things to me like "you deserve a day off" or "go ahead and sleep late. You work hard enough". On days I awaken early to go for a run , I can here the teddy voice in my head whispering, "it's too early and you could use the rest. No one would blame you for not running before sun-up. Lots of people your age are out of shape. Relax and enjoy life. You deserve it ". The voice of the devil! The hard core drill instructor requires me to show up and do the work when it's inconvenient, or when I think it's stupid, when I'm not very good at it and even when I see no improvement yet. I focus on the process, not the result. In the years I've been self-employed, as many in the industry can attest, self-doubt, negative thoughts, nay-sayers, and other bad feelings sometime creep in to try to derail our effort. In all the self-help gurus, positive thinking experts, life coaches and otherwise "go-getters", my most effective motivator was the NCO's of the United States Marine Corps. To them there was no reason in heaven or on earth to not show up. Not our feelings, a slight cold, a case of "the Mondays", the weather, bad night sleep or anything. Just show up.
My most recent event was a birthday party for a three year old which was done relatively early on a Sunday morning (9:30 am) in order to get ahead of the hottest part of the day. It's a record setting heatwave on the gulf coast to be sure which matched the entertainment. As usual it was lots of fun, food, characters and a personal appearance by You Tube sensation, Blippi.
Book me for your event by contacting me directly or you can get additional entertainment such as face painting and balloon artists by contacting Twist it Up Balloons. In many ways I was a pretty normal kid. I loved playing outside, sports, comic books, trading cards, riding my bike but in many ways I was not so normal. I was one of the few among my schoolmates who enjoyed reading, drawing, astronomy, I wrote my own stories and created my own comic strip called Salt Shaker which I model after my favorite comic strip. L loved history and even followed politics more than my classmates.
I had a collection of books, notebooks sketchbooks, writing and drawing implements. I would often find pencils on the street , dropped by someone and I would consistently pick them up to put in my collection for later use. I often joke about how I would be tricked into being kidnapped not by luring me with candy but by putting a pencil in my path whereupon I would stop to investigate. I had a collection of books Before the end of the 2022 spring semester, the University of Houston hosted their anual awards ceremony including hiring me for their services.
