Q- How long does it take?
A typical black and white drawing of a single person, face only, usually takes five minutes or less. If I'm asked to provide color drawings, naturally , it will take longer, maybe 7 or 8 minutes a person. Most clients require me to do the B&W faces only and on rare occasions ask for color. I will many times add a touch of color, time permitting, to the B&W drawings but it's usually relegated to just eyes and lips.

Q- Will you draw everyone at the event?
Caricature drawing is a very entertaining spectacle and even though not everyone is going to want to be drawn (Only about 50% of the attendees will take the "hot seat") the rest will simply enjoy watching.

Q- What do I need to provide for you?
Typically I need a small table and at least three chairs. One for me, and two for the people being drawn. I use a light weight portable easel upon which to draw but a small table is a convenient place to keep my pens a a small amount of supplies. I put the finished drawing in a plastic sleeve. Lighting is also important, so if the room has dim lighting, I will need a power outlet to plug my light into. If the event is outdoors, you should provide a tent to provide shade and protection from rain.

Q- What am I paying for?
You're paying me for two things: my art and my time. If I am hired to work an event for 3 hours, then I will be paid for 3 hours regardless of the number of people I draw. I've been to company functions that scheduale the time to serve dinner within my own time slot and naturally, since everyone is eating, I don't draw anyone until after dinner. If I'm hired for an event from 6 to 9 and dinner is served at 7, I will likely have some down time. But I am still to be paid for the full three hours.

Q- How many people can you draw in a single frame?
My favorite number is one, but I typically draw couples together. Anything more than that becomes complicated because more people in the picture gives way to space, details and likeness. I only have so much room to draw on a single sheet of paper so the issue of space becomes a factor. Groups of people are nearly impossible. Often, if a client wants a group drawing of numerous people, then separate arrangements can be made at additional costs.

Q- Can you provide a company logo on the paper?
Yes, most of the time. If you provide me with a clear, PDF logo in time, I can print paper with a logo on the paper. The printing cost will be included in the final payment.

Q- Can I provide our own paper?
No. The paper I draw on is the paper of my choice and is specific to my needs. If you want to print your logo on your own paper, I won't be able to use it.

Q- How do we pay you?
Most of my clients pay with debit or credit. Other than cash, this is my preferred method. Prior to booking, I charge a non-refundable booking fee at the time of booking. This holds your date. The balance is expected prior to the event. In other words, before I start drawing. It can be before the date of the event or when I arrive.

Q- Can you stay late if we ask nicely?
I am available to stay later than my allotted time at the regular rate if I have no other events to attend.

Q- Do you draw from photos?
I will not agree to draw from a photo at events because my service is provided for the attendees only and it takes more time than necessary. You will see I usually have a sizable line behind me of people waiting to be lampooned and drawing someone who isn't there may start and mob riot. If anyone wishes me to draw someone from a photo, I can always do so online at another time.
